Up, Up and Away: Green takes on Kilimanjaro

Rob Green has recently begun his scale of Mount Kilimanjaro in order to raise vital funds for a charity called AMREF (African Medical and Research Foundation) who work throughout the African continent, “attempting to improve the lives of people in some of the harshest and poorest climates in the world” (whufc.com).

This is the thing, players in this era are demanding sickening wages. Real Madrid are considering stupid money in the region of something like £300,000/wk to secure the services of Ronaldo and it is so refreshing to hear of the selfless work that players like Green are doing.  He is an exceptional professional and player, but also has his head firmly screwed on to life beyond the beautiful game.

Rob Green we salute you. But if you go and get yourself injured we want our money back.
