I am slowly but surely beginning to find all this transfer malarkey rumour particularly frustrating. Remember when Lanzafame’s name was being banded about? Seems like ages ago that this was a hot topic.
I digress.
So, what is the rumour mill circulating today? Well, Anton’s name is once again being linked Tottenham. But also Aston Villa now. Reports are suggesting that we are willing to let him go for £6m…oh, and now Newcastle have joined the fray.
Same old faces popping up, Newcastle, Tottenham, Newcastle, Villa, Tottenham, Everton.
What particularly annoys me about this rumour is that the aforementioned clubs are ‘on paper’ challenging the same sort of positions in the league as we are. On paper. So why oh why Mr. Curbishley are you willing to sell Anton when clearly there should be about 10 other players ahead of him in the ‘Must Get Rid Of’ box.
Plus, if it is to “cut the wage bill” as one report suggests, then why haven’t we already got rid of players like Ljungberg, Cole, Neill etc etc Quashie, etc etc. Personally I find this annoying.
Who else is circulating the rumour mill? Well, as a replacement for Anton, Coloccini has been linked. Ok, maybe if we sign this guy, Curb’s can be forgiven for prematurely getting rid of Anton. But we are talking £12m for him…I’ve got a horrible feeling that we really aren’t as rich as people think and I’m not sure if we can afford him at the minute.
I would say that before we sign anybody at all we will see a lot more players shown the door. Curb’s, you had better get a move on because there is a serious amount of dead wood in our team, and dead wood only ever gets erm, more dead?!

I still reckon half the problem is that fact that players dont want to join us is because of Curbishleys dour and unimaginative style of management.Take the Shorey situation for example – I’ve got a nagging feeling he’s going to Portsmouth purely because of the Redknapp factor.

totally agree with nobby, curbishley is so boring and it shows in west hams style of play BORING!!, we need sumone lke bilic he brings excitement an ethusiaism to a team! west ham needs to weed out a lot of players, there is defintaly a lot worse than fedinand! i would love to see 3-4 new players in our team like poldoski,swp,zhirkov and maybe shorey!

also, i would absolutely love it if we could secure the service of billic. he is a legend.
the passion he showed last night in the croatia turkey was exceptional. just the sort of guy we could do with.

Its simple, we will not get better players, unless we get Billic! Curb’s is a boring manager, with as much passion as a wet flannel, why would player want to play for him. Come on BG, bring Billic in!

I agree with al three of you curbishley has bought faubert, parker, ljunjberg, bellamy, dyer and neill theyre all top quality players but they never played 2 games on the trot theyre getting paid at least 60 grand a week and they dont even play, curbs doesnt have any knowledge what so ever abroad he hasnt bought 1 good player, yet bilic is exciting, attacking everything that curbs isnt in england you cant buy top quality players that are not injury prone and that dont have huge wages and plus even if they wasnt a player with that they wouldnt want to go to west ham when west ham arent in champions league or europe so you have to look abroad for top quality players tottenham signed berbatov for 10 mill and hes on 50 grand a week when he first signed he was on 35 grand a week. west ham are never going to be a good side with curbs in charge unless the sporting director nani is any good.
