Transfer Rumours

In Out, In Out, Shake it all about: Kapo for Zamora?

As you may already know, I am not somebody who particularly wants to see the back of Bobby Zamora. I think his passion for our club is second to none and personally feel that dedication deserves to be honoured.

This is the thing however. It has been reported today that Olivier Kapo is to be made available from Birmingham for a fee of around £3m. With Zamora being valued at roughly the same, would it be a shrewd piece of business by Curbs to try and offer Zamora as a make weight in an attempt to bring Kapo to Upton Park?

I’m not saying this is what I want, seeing that I reckon that Kapo could very well be a player who thinks in his own mind that he should be playing Champions League football each week, and would only consider a club like West Ham as an opportunity to keep himself in the shop window.

If that is the sort of player we are going to be signing then I’m not sure we would be doing anything proative in losing Bobby as part of the deal.

Technically however, he is a gifted player and has played across the continent for teams including Juventus and Monaco. I’m very much on the fence with this one.

Actually, no I’m not. I’ve just made my decision. I would like to keep Zamora purely for his love for our club. Because I think that is a core value that should be instilled in our entire squad if we are to perform at our best.

I think.

  4. No not Zamora, if we can get away with it, try and offer Carlton Cole in exchange. That would be an excellent deal… for us.

  8. I think players like zamora should move on. I know what the other guys are talking about but if the club wants to move forward i think we should let go of players like zamora. And get players like kapo Toni and johnson because those are players with fine quality and experiance and can take the club forward. And a change of manager wouldent go a miss (Billic) anyone.

  9. from what i’ve seen at the Euros however, Toni really hasn’t lived up to his name.

    johnson is injury prone

and Kapo is by far means proven at premiership level

i would like to see an even greater investment in our youth policy. we will not be attracting huge names for a while unless we have success on paper and at the minute we have had no success whatsoever on paper. that needs to change.

  10. This may be a move thats already done, since I have been
a supporter ’05. I have heard many rumours about his
leaving. I love this guy, and hope it’s not true.Though
Kapo is a great player. I would prefer we keep him, go
for johnson, and bring up our nippers instead
