Speculation was surrounding Upton Park last night with a few hours left on a certain Argentinian’s contract at Chelsea…
Hernan Crespo’s contract has now expired and West Ham are 60% there with signing the hitman. I found this out from someone who works at the club at around 10pm last night.
I think the signing would be fantastic for the club and boost our chances of competing for UEFA Cup football next season. Crespo is a born goalscorer at any level and could be the transfer of the season as a FREE PLAYER. He scored 25 goals for Chelsea in an on off career over 5 seasons (3 seasons he was loaned out to both Milan clubs). It is known that this player likes to play at different levels for personal challenges.
I think he wished he could of made a bigger impact at Chelsea and does want to settle in London. West ham would probably offer a 3 year contract at wages of £55,000 a week plus goal bonuses of £2,000 per goal and £1,000 appearance fee. Inter Milan have decided not to sign him due to Jose’s new role at the club.
So watch this space and remember, I told you first

Big name for sure. He used to be a world class striker, but I do not know how good he is atm.
Would he play instead of Ashton or instead of Bellars? Or would he be a third striker?

i agree crespo is a great player i liked him when he played for chelsea. but i was just wondering does any one no how he did for inter last season…? and do you think we will ever complete the signing of gudjohnson from barcelona….?

i would like to see us get gudjohnsen and crespo you could play diamond with parker or noble as holding midfielder and gudjohnsen as the attackting midfielder gudjohnsen like to play in that hole so it would suit him and if we get crespo which would be a great buy for free with bellamy not always fit crespo and ashton playing but the only problem with deano and crespo playing together is that they are too slow together but maybe we could get away with it because they are both highly intelligent players and by the way why did west ham release solano? I tyhought he had a good season.

Bit concerned really boys – these were top class players 5 years ago – crespo and gudjohnsen are well and truly past their sell by date and are going to command disproportionately large wages. For my money not the kind of signings to take the club forwards. Need younger hungrier players who are just starting to peak.

my main concern is that Crespo could just be another case of Davor Suker….maybe.
could potentially be a good piece of business, although there is something about it that strikes me simply as not being the way BG does things, or the way he wants them to happen

Never going to happen. Crespo hated playing in England and never settled in London, he has stated this in loads fo interviews, both while he was at Chelsea and Inter. There is no way he’ll come back here.
