Show Me The Green Stuff [OPINION]

There are 3 enemies in football

1.Tottenham
2. Agents
3. THE PRESS…

Robert Green has been reported in The Sun newspaper, that he demands more money for his contribution in the club in a national outburst…

Considering that the “2 page spread” is again done by the propaganda in the football world, there is not any 100% Proof of Green saying that… Was there any Pictures of him upset? No… Was there any Videos of him saying it? No… Did we actually “HEAR” him say it? Again… No!

The papers in general make more money by plugging a story like that than what Green earns in a week. I was one of them who bought it just so i could read it, that’s their evil game… in the game we love to watch.

Coming from personality face value when i worked the last home game of the season in the castle suite ( 2-2 vs Aston Villa), he collected his player of the year trophy and to me Robert Green seems loyal, subtle, confident and comfortable at the club and does not seem the type to be attacking the club he plays for… He’s not a stupid man, he’s got a degree to be a lawyer!

Arguably He Does deserve £40k a week, he plays 90mins, over 40 games for West Ham a season, if he wasn’t in goal, we would of lost against Arsenal in our relegation fight, would of lost to Portsmouth and Tottenham in the dying seconds if he didn’t save those penalties, would of even let in more than 12 goals in those 3 games (the 3 x 4-0 defeats).

West Ham should give his reward, because that is what lacking in football, clubs should be staying by their players through thick and thin regardless what happens and reward their service to the club, a good performance in vital games is money well spent. Dean Ashton is the prime example, we got him fit and he is repaying the club and the fans week in week out.

So i wouldn’t read too much in the papers Hammers fans, the only website i believe is the OFFICIAL WEST HAM SITE, where better than getting facts from the club itself than some swotty “arsenal” fan student making articles up to get selling bonuses

Keep up the Robert Green Faith…
Keep up the West Ham Faith…
Respect the game…

  1. Don’t see him standing up and saying he didn’t say it!!!

The guy signed a contract summer 2007, with which he asked for a review in the summer of 2009. The Hammers agreed with his wishes.

I would suggest he seeks out a meeting with his agent, to discuss what the hell he was thinking about during the negotiation.

  3. There is no doubt Green is worth his wage demands, BUT, he should having a go at his agent instead of the club.
I have dealt with many players agents and any worth their salt have always asked for much more than the player wants, and then compromises on a lower figure.
You can’t tell me that Green could have been happy with the deal he only signed last year!
Change your agent Robert, not your club!

  4. Lets put ‘parity’ into perspective!
Unfortunately “there’s no smoke without fire” and for the, normally, tight lipped West Ham to release a Club Statement over Rob Greens reported outburst, then i fear the worst!
Rob Greens agent must, have been educated at the ‘Paul Ince School Of P.R.’ if agreeing with Green to go public with his ‘parity’ comments!
Rob Green is a very good keeper and idolised by many fans. The vast majority of those same fans work far harder than any footballer to earn an annual salary equivalent to what a Premier League player gets paid (not earns) in 1-2 weeks!
Englands No.6 would do well to remember that West Ham fans are amongst the most loyal fans in the country – but their loyalty remains with the club. Players come and go ‘Hammer of the Year’ or not.
I seem to remember a previous ‘Hammer of the Year’ making a ‘P.R. Faux Pas’ that has stayed with him throughout his career and West Ham fans still to this day look forward to ‘welcoming’ Mr. Ince back to the Boleyn.
Rob Green seems to be a really nice guy and i hope he hasn’t “burnt his bridges”, so my advice to Rob is :- Keep your wage demands to youself, your agent and the club. Let your gloves do the talking and next year the ‘parity’ with your team mates will be restored.

Sadly the ‘parity’ with your real employers will be ever distant!!
