Time To Steer Clear Of Optimism? Chelsea v West Ham Team News

So, against Spurs I was optimistic. Personally, rightfully so. But unfortunately they let me down, quite badly.

Upon reflection, the performance was actually very poor and a lot more is needed of Zola and the boys today. I think right there however, is where I have a right to be optimistic once again….and I will be…Zola

I want to say that we will be a suprise package today. I really do, surely it is on the cards that Zola will return to the field where his used to learn his trade and walk away with all three points. If Sunderland can win 4-0 at home, then we can bat Chelsea. If Hull can go 2-0 up against Liverpool, then we can beat Chelsea. A Chelsea team who are actually looking poor at home this year.

We need some massive performances from so not so massive players today: Bellamy needs to be on top form, Cole needs to find some form. Parker needs to be our engine, he needs to be creative and our game needs to flow through him. Faubert doesn’t need to play, and Etherington does.

If those players turn up and actually earn their wages today with a doggish, inspired performance, then I don’t think there is anything to say that we can’t win. You could look at our previous form at the Bridge and say that we have no chance. But then you could say that that is an independant variable that has no effect on today, because it is todays performance and todays performance only that counts/

Clarke will know the way Chelsea work and the mentality they have when it comes to playing West Ham. And funnily enough, so willl Zola. That will come to our advantage.

Admittedly, I am ever an optimist and sometimes I take it too far. Each time I do, I realise that the fall from optimism to realism is actually quite far.

But this week, I am back for more and I will stick my neck on the line for a 1-0 West Ham win.

Here’s some team news from the BBC

As a quick little aside, as we have such long odds to win today’s game (16-1 in some places), it might just be a very good day to have access to a free, no-deposit necessary £3 bet. Fortunately, betNOW.co.uk are offering all my users this exact offer. How handy.

Just text ‘onyahead’ to 89000 and you will receive £3 completely free to back West Ham today….if we win, thats about £50 in your pocket. If we don’t, you lose nothing.

COYI!!!

  2. i’m assuming another spud popping their head round the corner.

of course we had every right to be optimistic before the spurs game

we had just come off a 1-0 win at sunderland and a 0-0 draw at liverpool

do you still consider yourselves a top 4 side?

we finished above you in the league last year, and only up until now have you gone above us in the league

how about you take your blinkers off and consider that maybe you are not a top 4 side – just another mid table side with aspirations

  3. I hate Chelsea. But I hate wet spam more. You’re sh*t and will get absolutely stuffed today. You’re going down for sure, then you’ll go bankrupt and end up in the unibond league, and I’m enjoying every second of your suffering.
