So, here’s a thought – and a thought it quite simply is. It is currently believed that Joe Cole is becomming increasingly frustrated at his lack of match action that actually spans the full 90 minutes (he’s only played a full game once this year). It is also well known that his contract is coming to an end in 18 months, and Chelsea have yet to reassure him that he is going to be offered a new one…see where I’m going with this?!
So, it’s not a post attempting to start the rumour that Joe Cole is coming back to West Ham (I could claim inside knowledge), but simply an eye opener to the possibility of it occuring. The facts as I see them are that City are very keen to get hold of Parker – not that I would want to seem him leave, and that Zola will only sell with a view to strengthening the squad. Would people consider the return of Joe Cole as strengthening the squad? I certainly would! For the money City are offering for Parker we could easily afford to bring Cole in. I think. I’m never to sure with West Ham. Ok, I assume we could afford to bring him in!
Now, the likelyhood is that Spurs will probably fly in with a £200m bid (with a cheeky bit on the side for Harry if the deal goes through)…but would he want to go to Spurs?
It is transfer rumour season, and I am honestly trying not to get too carried away, but my post yesterday about a return for Tevez just got me feeling all optimistic again!
Edit: Can I quickly just clarify, I am not saying for a second that Joe Cole is coming back to West Ham! Just questioning whether we could prise him back from funds released if we were to sell Parker…that is all!
On the topic of rumours, rumour has it that Manchester United are set to sign their kitman up – apparently he’s got skills. Have a look at the video if you want proof:

No. No you couldn’t.
Think about it……
Premier league challengers, CL challengers to…..a relegation battle?
No, I think you’re sensible in not getting to carried away, after all you said it yourself, 18 months left on his contract, I wonder what he and his agent could possibly be hoping for by leaking information like that out?
Certainly not a move to West Ham.
Sorry.

Is there a point there somewhere?
Money always rules supreme (ask Lucas Neil) as does trophies, and he’s certainly not going to get any of those at West Ham.

Ok, let’s get this straight, you reckon that one of the reasons you think this might happen is that you cheered YOURSELF up when YOU wrote about the possibility of Tevez coming back?
Hang on, just writing myself an e-mail congratulating myself on becoming the King of Thailand…WOW, it does work! Brilliant.

Would be great if they did spend any money they get in on transfers on other players.!!! as i am writhing this luis philipe scolari has just come on sky sports news and said joe cole isn’t going anywhere and will play a big part in his squad.!!! He is just greedy. anyway the chairman will keep all of the money for himself i’m afraid . Why do we have to get the oonly billionaire that goes bankrupt?

[...] Only It Could be True… There’s nothing like a bit of optimism, is there? The West Ham Process blog is touting Joe Cole for a move back to West Ham. Are those pigs I can see flying through my rose [...]

Why on earth would Joe Cole want to come to WHU? And, how on earth would we afford his huge wages? There would be a lot of club in front of us in the queue.
Get real, the days of signing big names are gone my friend! Unless of course we are bought by a rich arab!

Very unlikely. Very, very unlikely.
Even if Cole came back, would West Ham be able to foot his wage bill in their current financial condition?
I don’t see Cole doing a Wright Phillips at all.

HEY SAM
great shout about joey cole, i was actually thinking the same about other players that have returned to their old clubs to get more football. it’s great for the game as money normally talks instead of ambition.
i think the players have realized that sitting on the bench at successful club and being a “bit par” player (a phrase the soccer saturday legends are starting to use quite often) is not an honest living and a complete waste of talent
moving to big club and then rejoining….
look at shaun wright phillips, made a massive move to chelsea and didn;t really give the same football as he did when he was with man city, his confidence was gone, but then from out of the blue he re joins man city in a boost to gain the football he once had. yeah man city are a very medioca team at the moment, but its a huge boost for talented stars like him.
moving to smaller club then rejoining
Jermain Defoe lacked the amount of plying time at spurs when keane and berbatov was leading the front, so he went to pompey, great idea to gain regular football, then when spurs sold the main two they had no one, so they re call defoe. the point made from the defoe example is that all players want to be the leading man for the club, even if you have to sacrifice your “bit par” position to persure regualr football. defoe gave up the chance to be a carling cup winner, wise move as now he is not cup tied in any competition. he can play in uefa cup, carling cup and fa cup. you have to make sacrifices to get into a higher position you were once at
so…
i aint saying we should go out and buy Joey Cole, as i cant really see chelsea selling him… but i propose a 12 loan deal to give him the football he deserves.
Loan Deal for those type of quality players to teams in a lower position should be used more regular… FACT…
the “top 4″ are wasting talent because they can afford to. this dont JUST apply to west ham, but other teams in the league.
PREMIER LEAGUE should look into this more closely to open the league right up and be more even.

Why on earth do we want Joe Cole back at West Ham? He couldn’t wait to leave us when we were relegated. I cannot remember many match winning performances from him that season and he has no interest in, or respect for West Ham

Maybe…..but it’s also from a club who have sold their soul, to a club who made his name
Perhaps this time money won’t rule supreme?

In that case, I will post something about The Demise Of West Ham United.
Or the fact that we are selling everybody.
Or the vultures are circling.
Or that we are only 5 points above the relegation zone.
Or that a bid seems to have been made for all of our decent players – enticing bids and that maube our board will finally give in and sell them
Or that our board may need to sell up – otherwise we go into administration and get docked points
Or that the Tevez saga has been reopened – which may lead to more docked points.
It seems that everyone else in the media/footballing world has got nothing but bad news about West Ham…just trying to lighten everything up. Apologies for that
I never said I think it will happend, I just opened up the possibility
Congratulations on becomming the King of Thailand by the way.

Could be a good addition to the team I would have thought – just out of interest, as King of Thailand, could you lend us a couple of quid?!
