What a huge game. I’m not sure more else needs to be said really!

We have to make up for one of our worst performances of the season (the reverse of this fixture) and Spurs have it all to play for in search of our European place. There are currently 6 points seperating us and Spurs, a win today would see that gap extended to 9 points whilst a loss would possibly see Wigan join us on 44 points if they can manage to overturn Arsenal at the JJB.

Along with the long-term absentees (Ashton, Gabiddon, Cole, Behrami, Collison) we are currently possibly facing today’s game again without Parker and Kovac in the middle, who will both be taking late fitness tests.

Some good news however is that this week we have seen Tomkins, Noble and Stanislas all sign new contracts, a massive boost for our future. This has, quite natrually, led old saggy chops himself decide to stick his two penneth worth in over the matter, claiming that none of West Ham’s current crop will be as good as some of our previous Academy graduates; Cole, Carrick, Ferdinand. Cheers for that Harry, good to see that you are still taking a keen interest in all of our younger players, seeing them play week in, week out and all. Can’t help but think that Harry will be the first person to try an sign any one of those three when he realises that each and everyone of them has a more promising England future than any of his younger players – most of whom were knicked from other clubs, rather than actually bringing them through from grassroots.

Equally as predictable as the tide, is Harry’s latest attempt to get the West Ham faithful on his side – bleating on about having a soft spot for West Ham and all that jazz. Quite frankly it doesn’t rub. Enjoy your time at Spurs and trying to overhaul a two-year deficit of never being above us in the league. IRONS!

As for today’s prediction, I am desperate to say we will win, however I can’t help but think with our injuries it’s going to be a bit of a push. So I’m actually going to settle for a 1-1 Draw. Enough to keep their ‘European surge’ at bay, and enough to keep ours fully on track! IRONS
