Well it would seem that my post the other day about the Bobby Moore Cup being no longer, was on the money. As today, it’s been revealed that it will as of this year be named the SBOBET Cup.
Sullivan and Gold have claimed that they will pay attention to what the fans want a little more, yet it would seem that it will only be on the more pressing matters…like who our next mascot should be. I’m so pleased we had a say in that. Despite this claim to be real-fans and wanting to consider our opinions more, they press full-steam ahead into getting us into the Olympic Stadium and have now scrapped the Bobby Moore Cup, both decisions made without actually taking into account our point of view.
I wonder how many fans were consulted when they decided to introduce a new category of match next year, the AA. Which will set fans back a huge £69 a ticket.
I suppose they have given us the opportunity to have our say by inviting us to sit with one of them during a game, but of course that will cost you a mere £100+
Bobby Moore is arguably the greatest English player to have lived, and undoubtedly the greatest to pull on the claret and blue…yet SuGo have opted for greed ahead of generosity, and failing again to really understand what us real fans really want and importantly, what really matters.
Visit the Bobby Moore Fund website for more details as to how you can support them.
(I’m also thinking of maybe organising our own Bobby Moore Cup – all proceeds to the fund. If enough people say they’re up for it then I’ll go ahead and get it sorted)
Sam

Yet again the memory of Bobby Moore dishonoured, how a hero of English football could have been treated so badly during his twilight years and indeed after his death is beyond me, he should have been a national treasure endeared throughout his years and beyond.

Anyone who believes that these two porn peddlers have the slightest interest in the history of the club or the wishes of the fans is deluded to say the least.
They keep the masses happy with tall tales of big signings none of which ultimately come to nothing.
They talk about the cheapest tickets in the Premier League and then bring in a new incredibly high ticket price.
Add that to their constant lying about the state of the clubs finances and its obvious that this is nothing more than a money making excersize for the pair.

Charity begins at home, fellas. The awful truth is that WE (as a club) cannot afford to give away the kind of money that these matches represent. Maybe in future our financial position will imporve to the point where we can start being generous again but that time is not now!
Give SuGo a break – let’s see what they do after they have the place running like a proper business.

So our debts which are so vast that they would give a latin American country sleepless nights can be fixed by depriving a charity of some cash?
Well I am sure this makes all of those affected by cancer who will be losing out on services and support feel a lot better to know that Gollivan will have trousered a few more quid!

The Bobby Moore cup will return im sure. Some people just dont understand how a business gets back on its feet again.

Would there have been any harm in adding an extra quid to the ticket price, which solely goes to the charity? Call it the SBOBET Bobby Moore Cup or the Bobby Moore Cup, sponsored by SBOBET
If i knew that the extra pound was all going to the BMF, then I’d happily pay it. Now, I’m not going to bother going at all. So rather than raising a pound for BMF and earning sponsorship money from SBOBET, they’re losing my £10 altogether

Believe me when I tell you that I understand fully how a business gets back on its feet again and absolutely nothing the daves have done since taking over are part of an well thought out plan.

Is it really worth shitting on our own doorstop by dumping the cup name for a few thousand quid? I’m surprised the papers haven’t gone to town with this one. Local hero gets dumped for cash. Not forgetting the charity, this really sucks. Number 6 will be reinstated for a new signing.

Said from day one that letting those two morons get involved with our club is massive bad news.
I can’t wait until they’ve sold UP and pocketed the proceeds leaving us with absolutely no assets. Ffs
And do they really think we’re so thick that the “bids” for Henry, Cole, Beckham etc will pull the wool over our eyes and we’ll swallow the increased prices etc etc.
The thought of those two muppets sitting at our top table makes my skin crawl.
Too many Hammers have dismissed the Brum fans warnings as “northern know-nowt nonsense”. Time a few woke up and smelled crotchless coffee.

As a West Ham supporter I’m embarrassed by some of the tedious ill informed comments posted on here, all because some goons that probably spend their afternoons at Lakeside with their mums, I doubt you’ve got women of your own.
Thank f*ck I don’t have to listen to your pre-conceived drivel at the ground.
Envy is such an ugly trait

Celtichammer, NAILS and darren sound like right melts with their sanctimonious b*llocks, they give West Ham supporters a bad name.
Do some of you really think that Bobby Moore’s memory is best served by a pre-season game in front of a half empty stadium and if I’m not mistaken the Club gives the Fund massive support through both donations, advertising and sponsorship.
Still let’s all slag off S&G because we haven’t signed Messi and Rooney.

Nails, I would really like to leave your comment up as it makes quite clear how close this issue is to your heart.
However the last sentence I do have to edit out, I’m sorry.
I will of course keep the rest in.
Dave, I think Nails’ comment sums it up perfectly. It’s not even about how we best serve Bobby Moore’s memory, it’s about doing the best that we as a club can to support the Bobby Moore Fund.
Bowel Cancer continues to have a devastating affect on lives across the world and we as a club should be doing more, not less, to support it

Darren if you detest the blokes that saved our Club from going into administration then do us all a favour, protest with your feet.
You whine that we haven’t signed a top tier player, but it’s not even July and there’s a WC going on, why not adopt a little patience before whining like a girl.
Out of interest why the loathing of them, are you bible basher?

See Dave here is the problem, we were never going into administration so they saved us from nothing.
Maybe you would like to give us your opinion on the most recent set of accounts and the state of the clubs finances over the last few years?
Oh and you cant use “because the daves said so”

CelticHammer yes we were heading for Admin and it’s a known fact that Parker would’ve gone in January, along with possibly Upson if G&S hadn’t bought the Club, I’ve got a copy of the last published accounts, let me know what interests you and I’ll post it up on here tomorrow, that said what relevance that has on you’re slating of them only you know?
Darren you shouldn’t believe everything you read in the papers as both the squad up for sale and pay cut statements were taken totally out of context, i know this because I read the full transcript which was in the original articles and not paraphrased by the red tops and the 100k a week was qualified by Sullivan, stating that a squad can afford 1 or 2 as long as they were stellar signings.
Out of the four offers on the table, only ONE(yes ONE), proved they had the cash to purchase the Club.
If you think that they only bought West Ham to slice up the land on Green Street then you’re a biggir idiot than you’re already coming across. The real estate is worth under £10 million, which is peanuts and a sixth of what they’ve already put in.
As for the comment about toys, pathetic, I’m sitting back laughing at the ignorance on this blog

How were we heading into administration when we were not behind with any creditors, in fact only in november the 5 banks who hold the clubs loans had renegoiated our loans and Straumur had paid them down by £5M so they were certainly not going to force the club into administrations.
We have no outstanding liabilities to the tax man, they players have never been late being paid and no other creditor had taken action against the club so again I will ask HOW were we about to go into administration?

Dave. I don’t want a “fancy” signing like Cole, Henry or Beckham. Which is lucky as we’re not going to get one. “We’re gonna sign..XXXX…” leaked to the world’s press is hardly the stuff of an experienced negotiator trying to land their signing. No, its the stuff of a lying gobshite trying to paper over the apathy of most decent West Ham fans following the truly dreadful season we just had.
Why do I hate them? They lie, spin and lie. Proven fact. See the “paycut” statement made 2 weeks after the “£100k a week” statement for instance. Or the “entire squad up for sale” etc etc
And I’m sick to death of hearing slightly dim folk, like this (probable schoolchild) Dave character citing “they saved our club”. Utter bollocks. CBH had 4 offers on the table. Count them, FOUR. Any one of those could have “saved our club”.
Ask yourself this, with other bids on the table for 100% of the club why did CBH, a business that exists solely to reclaim as much cash as possible for Straumur’s creditors, choose an offer for only 50%?
Promise of a bigger return on their investment once UP was sold? CBH walk away with a large wedge. SuGo pocket a large wedge. And my club has zero discernable assets left and owners who’ll be looking to offload us as soon as possible having rinsed and asset stripped it.
Good business. For sure. For them. NOT for my club.
And “Dave”….. Don’t bother replying if its just more moronic childish inanity. I have better things to do than read your “whine like a girl” crap when you’re the only one displaying any toys out of pram type childish wank.
Have a nice day

Ok guys No.1 we’re all fighting from the same side which is good news but I would respond to Dag Dave, there were two other groups Tony Fernandez and Intermarket who were both interested and had the funds to take us forward so dont say they saved us, because both these groups were very serious about buying the club and as it happens all 100% of the club not just 50 !

Fellas, let’s try not to aimlessly argue amongst ourselves….I want to leave comments open but it it starts getting needlessly personal then I’ll reluctantly have to shut them
Allow me to clarify my disappointment. I personally don’t think that choosing to support the BMF with proceeds from this match is going to significantly drag us into more debt.
I also feel that human decency should come ahead of raking in profits, no matter what business you are in. In this instance I feel that SuGo have neglected to support a worthy charity who could do with the cash, in favour of turning a larger profit. Whilst yes, we need to be making more money, I don’t think it’s necessary to make the cuts from this particular area. The money means more to the BMF than it does for us.
As for the ownership debate, we can of course be grateful for the money that they’ve put into the club. My fear however is that they are the type of owners/people who will promise and talk a hell of a lot but ultimtely fall short every time and fail to deliver.
I think its fair to say that we only need to talk to birmingham fans to draw this conclusion. I’m wary that they are after nothing but turning a large profit for themselves and the club’s interest on the whole is not on their hearts.
Keep it pleasant

i disagree with them scrapping the bobby moore cup, i mean the man is an absolute hero and arguably the best defender to ever grace the pitch. but i dont see how you can argue with their decision after all they do own the club and lets face it if they didnt come in we would be f***ed. you cant argue with their decisions because they are trying to take our club forward and turn west ham in to a big club so if that means moving stadiums, so be it
