A few weeks ago there was the football tournament in aid of the Bobby Moore Fund (organised by the guys over at WestHamOnline.net ) Congratulations to the lads who raised a fantastic £1260 for the charity.
A new fundraising effort from Jamie Penfold came to my attention today. Again he is raising money for the Bobby Moore Fund with a target of £3000.
His effort however, is truly astonishing and if you’re able to support him in anyway it will be fantastic for both him and of course, the BMF. Jamie will be running the Great North Run on September 19th (13.1 miles) and then the following day, cycling from St James’ Park (Newcastle) all the way to Upton Park – covering a massive 300 miles over the two days.
This really is a heroic effort and he deserves every last bit of coverage he gets for it. So, here’s his fundraising page and you can also keep track of his training progress on his blog here
It’s been fantastic to see fans stepping up to the plate to raise money for the fund. Particularly in wake of the club denying the BMF what would this year have been £14,295 (previous seasons, £1 per ticket sold for the “prestigious friendly” went to the fund. )

good on him, nice to see the geordies back as well
