Here’s a brief round up of today’s team news, followed by a link to my new live Twitter discussion feature (or if that’s what you’ve come here for, then CLICK HERE to get chatting)

West Ham

- Carlton Cole is the latest to be added to our injury list. He won’t be around until sometime into the New Year.
- Upson is out with a hamstring injury, although will be back for the trip to Birmingham
- Behrami has had to have some more surgery on his knee. Although not major and will likely return during before Christmas.
- Noble has recovered from a calf strain but now has a cold
- Jimenez has picked up a ‘muscle problem’, whatever that may be. Even the official site is not sure whether either will be considered today.

- Diamanti has returned to full training
- As has Dyer who also has a couple of reserve games under his belt – scoring a brace in one.

Manchester United

- Jonny Evans, Rio Feridnand and John ‘O Shea all miss out
- Other than that, they have no fresh injury concerns

- Edwin van der Sar returns between the sticks

All things considered….

So odds are not in our favour today – infact you can get 13-2 at PaddyPower for a West Ham win. Great.

However, as I like to remain an optimist, I’m confident that if we get big performances today from the likes of Parker, Franco, Green then we can give this a good shot. Parker has been outstanding so far this year and has been a rock for us in the last couple of games. Franco is proving himself to be an intelligent, passionate striker perfect for alongside Cole. Without Cole however, I’m confident that if you put the pace of Hines alongside him that we can cause some problems amongst a significantly weakened United back line.

I can’t see us keeping a clean sheet and chances are Giggs will probably bag himself one, as he always seems to do against us.

We should see some goals today and if our boys really step up to the plate then we may come away with more than just a pat on the back and a “good effort” from Zola. In fact I think we could really suprise a few people today – particularly, as I say, their backline is weak. If Vidic decides that it will be a walk in the park and Franco and Hines (or whoever) are pumped up for it, then anything can happen.

However…

If we’re not up for it, or decide to do anything other than play with an attacking mentality, then it could very well be am hammering. Unfortunately. But let’s not dwell, three points it is from me.

IRONS!

Can’t help but contain my excitement about the call ups of three West Ham players to the England squad for the upcoming friendly against Spain. OK, it’s only a friendly and I suppose when you look at it they may not all get a start…but…there are no Spurs players in the squad. Neither are there any Arsenal or Liverpool and there are only two United and three Chelsea. All things considered, there are 9 ex and current West Ham players who have been named (if my memory serves me correctly, Terry played as a youth player with us).

I’m not going to go on about it, but what a sign of how Zola and Clarke have change things around for us…after all, each one of those players was under the management of Curbishley too.

Anyways, here’s the team news for today’s much anticipated game against United:

West Ham:

Once again, we have no knew injury concers to worry about. Dyer, Ashton and Gabbidon all remain sidelined.

Kovac is available for selection if necessary, although I can’t see Zola wanting to change our midfield from the start.

Man U:

Gary Neville is out with a cold, but unfortunately Rooney, Evra and Brown are all back in contention

I personally think that we are perfectly capable of winning this game, although I’m not necessarily sure that we will. We are unbeaten in 6 League games and as everyone knows, United are not only unbeaten in 12, but have also failed to concede along the way.

It’s going to be a tough game (as is to be expected) but I think the confidence and resilliance that we are playing with will see us through.

Prediction: It seems too peculiar to predict us to beat United, so I think I’m going to have to settle for a 1-1 Draw.

Live Streams:

As I will be resuming my usual postition this weekend in the Centenary Lower, I won’t unfortunately be able to gurantee a live stream on my streaming page. What I will be posting is a list of all the best places to catch the game online, and the chat room will naturally still be open.

There’s been some quality banter going down in that little chat box these last few weeks, so if are going to be watching the game online why don’t you keep one window with the chat box open for some regulation Hammers based banter. IRONS!
